Let’s not quibble over boring details and cut to the larger issue. We all want clean air, land, and water. I have hunted, fished, and camped outdoors all my life and traveled to most of the national parks throughout the country. I used to be a member of the Sierra Club, Green Peace, and other environmental groups. Our land is breathtaking in its beauty. But these groups, the EPA, and other governmental agencies have gone way beyond protecting our resources. They are now a tool of the radical left to control our lives. They’re not about protecting the quality of our environment no more than Obamacare is about improving the quality and cost of our health. It’s a matter of ideology and control. This top down centralized massive government intrusion into our lives is costing us our liberty and freedom. We must be vigilant in protecting our individual sovereignty.

The stewardship of our resources, with limited government oversight, should be left to private property owners. When the Berlin wall fell in November of 1989, West Germany and the world were aghast at the environmental degradation that plagued the countryside of East Germany under their centralized communist government control. That demonstrated a stark comparison of how free market capitalism and private property rights of West Germany triumphed over governmental authoritarian rule with respect to managing their resources. Free markets, free people, and less government are what keep costs down and supplies abundant, while protecting our environment.

Now, Mr Sandler, you continually suggest that I get my information from TV. I only watch TV (sometimes MSNBC for a few laughs) while cooking venison and fish harvested from my property. You are a passionate debater and I would love to have you over on our side of the ideological fence, you would be a great asset. As a trader I’m sure you’ve heard of Investors Business Daily. I implore you and the folks reading this letter to read this daily publication. Go to “issues and insights” and you will learn a great deal about the issues of the day as they relate to business, the constitution, your freedoms, and of course why the price of gas is so high. Also, a great amount of history, constitutional law and current events can be obtained by listening to Mark Levin (and he has a great sense of humor) from 6 to 9 pm on 770 am. You can also go on his website to listen live or access his archives. He is a best selling author of many books. I suggest his latest best seller, Ameritopia; I promise it will change you Mr Sandler.
