Safe Boating Course, May 5

Due to the success of a recent fundraiser, the Leaps of Faith Disabled Skiers volunteers will again host a safe boating course at Newtown High School on May 5.

Participants can receive a certificate of completion that is required for a Connecticut boating and personal water craft license.

The course will run from 8 am to 4 pm. The cost is $59 per person and is open to ages 12 and older. Refreshments and lunch will be included. For registration or information, contact Leaps of Faith founder and volunteer Joel Zeissler at 203-426-0666, or e-mail LOFSkiers@gmail.com.

Registration is only complete upon receipt of payment. The course is fully refundable if the registrant is unable to participate.

On March 31, Leaps of Faith Disabled Skiers held a record-breaking Safe Boating Course fundraiser where 100 people received their About Boating Safely certificate from the Coastguard Auxiliary. The event raised almost $3,000 for disabled water skiing programs in Newtown.
