Shannon Kennedy and Ryan Cove

Judy and Bill Kennedy of Sandy Hook announce the engagement of their daughter, Shannon, to Ryan Cove, son of Lee and Kevin Cove of Durham.

Shannon, who lives in Sandy Hook, is a 2006 graduate of Newtown High School. She is also a graduate of Central Connecticut State University.

She is a secondary English teacher at Franklin Academy in East Haddam, as well as a substitute teacher at Newtown Middle School and a tutor at Excel Learning Center in Newtown. She is pursuing a master’s degree in special education at Central Connecticut State University.

Ryan, of Durham, gradated from Coginchaug Regional High School in 2005. He attended Central Connecticut State University, and is a barber with Rooster’s in Glastonbury.

The couple is planning a September 2012 wedding.
