Triple Crown Riding Series

The Fairfield County Hounds will sponsor its annual spring Triple Crown Riding Series, beginning Saturday, May 5, with a Kentucky Derby Hunt Country Trail Ride in Bridgewater. This is the first year that the Series will be open to non-FCH members for participation.

The other events in the Series include a Saturday, May 19 Preakness Stakes Hunter Pace/Poker Run and a Saturday, June 9 Belmont Stakes Hunter Pace. Riders may participate in one, two, or all three events. Participants in all three events earn points for prizes, to be awarded at the conclusion of the Series.

The events will offer two divisions — Hunt and Pleasure/Western — and courses designed to accommodate riders of varying levels. Entry fees are $50 for the Kentucky Derby Hunt Country Trail Ride and $75 each for the Preakness Stakes Hunter Pace/Poker Run and the Belmont Stakes Hunter Pace.

The Kentucky Derby Hunt Country Trail Ride will start at 10 am at the Fairfield County Hounds Kennels, 155 Botsford Hill Road, Bridgewater.

The Preakness Stakes Hunter Pace/Poker Run start times begin at 1 pm at Shallow Brook Farm, 110 Christian Street, Bridgewater. Teams must start by 3 pm to be eligible for points and ribbons.

The Belmont Stakes Hunter Pace start times begin at 10 am at Shallow Brook Farm, 110 Christian Street, Bridgewater. Teams must start by noon to be eligible for points and ribbons.

Light refreshments will be available at each event. In addition to ribbons, this year’s cumulative point division winners of the Series will each be awarded a $100 tack shop gift certificate.
