Women’s Wellness Event To Benefit Special Care Nursery

WATERBURY -— Waterbury Hospital’s 21st annual tgif (“Thank God I’m Female”) women’s wellness forum is scheduled for Friday, April 27, at Bella Vista, The Ponte Club, on Farmwood Road. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Special Care Nursery and other patient care needs at the hospital.

This year’s event, titled “Laughter is the Best Medicine,” will address stress reduction for women with presentations by two featured speakers.

Tina Herman, MSN, RN, is assistant director of the Intensive Care and the Cardiovascular Units at Waterbury Hospital, where she has worked for the past 15 years. She will speak about the effects of stress on our bodies, and will offer remedies.

Michelle Gotay, the event’s keynote speaker, is a professional motivator, trainer, and entertainer. Her light-hearted presentation will be honed for today’s women, of whom so much is expected.

Teresa LaBarbera, traffic reporter and host of “CT Style” on WTNH-TV, Channel 8, will return again as the evening’s special guest, greeting all attendees, being available for pictures, and assisting with the evening’s many tea-cup raffle items.

tgif and its valuable health information for women is made possible through the support of many sponsors and the 40-plus exhibitors whose wares and information will be of interest to a women’s audience.
