What We Like About Newtown
To the Editor:
On Friday, I always look forward to The Bee as I meet members of our community on the second page. It is interesting when the question is asked "What do you like about Newtown?" The answer many times is “still has a rural feel” or “open spaces.” Consequently, I was pleased to have a builder's desire for a sewer system to be built by Newtown given a negative response. On the land, he wants to put 350 apartments right off of exit 10 and I-84 .
I live in Walnut Tree Village # 1, and my condo abuts Walnut Tree Village # 2 and I hear the traffic raging on 84! Imagine living next to Route 84, on land at exit 10. Traffic at that juncture is unbridled chaos. And has anyone given though to what that builder's plan would do to the market value of those homes on Walnut Tree Hill Road.
Does anybody care? I hope Newtown cares.
Sincerely,
Paula Stephan
