A Success By Every Measure
To the Editor:
This past Saturday, April 18th, the “Modeling for Makers” Fashion Show event to support maker space programming at the Cyrenius H. Booth Library was held at the Rock Ridge Country Club. The evening was a success by every measure. The event was sponsored by the C.H. Booth Library Board of Trustees. Thanks go to our hard-working volunteers, especially the organizing committee of Kathy Geckle, Mary Thomas, Lynda Doyle, Liz Arneth, Pat Denlinger and Karen Madzula. Thanks also to every board member, as always, for freely giving of their time, treasure and talent.
Fashions from the fun to the fabulous were expertly modeled by many of Newtown’s Notables, thank you for being a part of the event. Special thanks to John Voket, expert emcee, and Monsignor Robert Weiss, amazing auctioneer. Please visit our website, www.chboothlibrary.org, for a full listing of the generous area businesses that sponsored the fashion show, headlined by our title sponsor, Quality Gem. Be sure to support all of them when making your purchasing decisions. We thank them along with all of our individual sponsors and donors. Finally thanks to all who attended, we hope you had a fun evening.
Up next? Newtown Reads is coming May 1st! Shhhh, the book title hasn’t been announced yet, but a few of the programs and events on our website give some big clues….an epistolary writing group, a talk on a historic time period, a pie contest…can you guess? See you at the library!
