Don't Rely On Others To Pass The Budget
To the Editor:
I am writing in support of the proposed budget and to encourage all eligible voters to come out on April 28 and vote Yes. The proposed budget will result in an effective tax rate (decrease) equal to –0.71 percent. The education budget is a responsible and lean one – it addresses staffing for decreased enrollment while it maintains current programs for students, begins to address the district’s need for upgraded technology, introduces a Spanish World Language program to the kindergarten classes, and enhances support for both special needs and highly capable students.
Please don’t rely on others to vote to pass this budget – vote at the Middle School on April 28. If you or any eligible voters in your home can’t vote on Tuesday, please vote by Absentee Ballot at the town clerk’s office by 4:30 pm on April 27; their office will also be open special hours on Saturday, April 25 from 9 am – noon for absentee voting.
Respectfully,
Lynn Edwards
