Dog Park Fundraiser A Success!
Dog Park Fundraiser A Success!
To the Editor:
Heartfelt thanks to the 45 dog park enthusiasts who came out Saturday night for dinner to support the new dog park in town! Ruth and Robert Hutchinson opened their home and served a scrumptious feast and donated two handmade sterling silver jewelry suites for silent auction. Joyce Neri and Sandra Kuzmich were the lucky winners, but everyone had fun, and all for a good canine cause!
Special thanks to Vern Gaudet, owner of Newtownâs own Hometown Wine & Spirits on Church Hill Road, for generously donating all the wine and manning the bar to answer questions and support the park.
Guests were disappointed to miss Chloe Freedman, whose highly-anticipated appearance at the gala was thwarted by a full social schedule â allegedly she was held up at a wedding, but there are unconfirmed reports that Kitty Kelley had tracked her down in London, where she was avoiding paparazzi while waiting for a private jet to skirt the ash clouds there. Weâve heard she will be on hand to sign autographs at the next event with her four (yes, four!) dogs.Â
Please visit newtownparkandbark.org for details on the future park and our next event: Strut Your Mutt, up in Fairfield Hills, on May 22.
Event tickets can be purchased and park donations can be made online, or at Parks & Recreation, Three Main Street.
