Environmentalists Every Day
Environmentalists Every Day
To the Editor:
As we celebrate Earth Day this April 22, we should take time to recognize those who perform the task of solid waste collection and recycling throughout the United States. Long before there was an Earth Day, these men and women performed this task without fail every day, 24/7.
It is estimated that there are over 368,000 men and women equipped with over 150,000 vehicles keeping our country green and clean. Chances are the most expensive vehicle on the road you will most likely see is a garbage truck.
So the next time you see such a person doing their job, give them a wave and a smile for they are truly âEnvironmentalists Every Day.â
