How To Select A Champion
How To Select A Champion
To the Editor:
Who else enjoyed the magic of this yearâs March Madness? Who knew that a small school like Butler could make the National Championship Game? The combination of great games and stunning upsets is what makes sports the best thing on earth. So can the NCAA learn from itself and take their thrilling basketball tournament and use that to create a college football playoff?
The current BCS [Bowl Championship Series] of college football is not fair to any of the teams outside of the major conferences. Boise State has had three undefeated seasons in the last four years, and yet has not had the opportunity to play for a national championship game. The BCS needs to adopt a 16-team playoff for college football that spans during the current bowl season. It is the only way to fix college football so that a proper champion can be crowned.
