Magic Gardens Of Asia, Europe

Rita Bond will present her program “East Meets West: Magic Gardens of Japan and Europe” to the members of The Garden Club of Newtown Tuesday, April 27, at 1 pm, in the meeting room of the Cyrenius H. Booth Library at 25 Main Street. The public is invited, free of charge.

In her slide presentation that includes photos of the Zen gardens of Japan and the important gardens of the West, attendees will learn the history of gardens and how these gardens still inspire contemporary garden design.

Ms Bond discovered gardening while seeking respite from the demands of raising her two children and studying for an MBA, and soon discovered how much she enjoyed gardening. She returned to school to earn a Certificate in Landscape Design at the New York Botanical Garden and became a Master Gardener through the University of Connecticut’s program. She studied color theory at West Hartford Art League and has begun an ancillary career as an artist.

For more than ten years, Ms Bond has been a landscape designer, lecturer and teacher.

Reservations are not needed for Garden Club of Newtown programs, but additional information is available from Ginnie Carey. Contact her at 203-270-1108.
