The Three B’s: Basie, Blues, And Bop

DANBURY — Danbury Music Centre will host a benefit performance of Big Band hits from the 1940’s made popular by the bands of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Harry James, Benny Goodman, and Count Basie. Newer tunes will also be played.

An evening of some of the best Big Band music of that era will performed by well-known area musicians on Saturday, May 1, at 8 pm, at Danbury Music Centre, 256 Main Street. Ample parking is available behind the center, on Terrace Place. There will be a small dance floor for those who want to do more than just listen. A reception of wine, cheese and other light refreshment will also be served.

Admission is $10 and tickets will be available at the door (cash or checks). Tickets can also be reserved in advance by contacting Danbury Music Centre at  dmc1935@snet.net or 203-748-1716.
