Amazing Support From Volunteers
Amazing Support From Volunteers
To the Editor:
National Volunteer Week, April 19â25, gives those of us at Regional Hospice a chance to reflect on the important role of volunteers and thank them for all they do to make a difference for our patients and their families. From personal visits and fundraising, to administrative help and board leadership, more than 200 volunteers give their time and expertise to help our agency bring care, comfort and compassion to those touched by life-limiting illness and loss in Newtown and Greater Danbury. Last year alone, volunteers gave more than 5,000 hours of their time.
Regional Hospice volunteers help to make sure that each year more than 500 hospice patients find hope, have their dignity preserved, and are surrounded by love. They also make it possible for us to support more than 900 people each year through The Healing Hearts Center for Grieving Children and Families. With the number of volunteers at the highest level ever, we thank and honor them for their amazing support, and appreciate that so many people have chosen Regional Hospice as a place to give back.
