Bats And The Environment

LITCHFIELD — A program called “Bats and the Environment” will be presented at Wisdom House Retreat and Conference Center from 10:30 am to noon on Friday, May 1. Gerri Griswold, director of administration and development at The White Memorial Conservation Center in Litchfield, will be the presenter.

Bats are some of the most misunderstood animals. Their place in ecology is vital, yet some deadly diseases threaten their existence. What do they do during the day? Why do they come out at night? People often fear what they do not understand. This program is appropriate for adults and children.

Ms Griswold is a licensed wildlife rehabilitator with special emphasis on bats for the State of Connecticut. She is the author of numerous articles, including a cover story in The Weekly Reader. She has also co-produced a segment for The Late Show with David Letterman and a segment on Positively Connecticut with Diane Smith.

Fee for the program is $6. For further information contact Wisdom House at 860-567-3163, programs@WisdomHouse.org or WisdomHouse.org. The center is at 229 East Litchfield Road.
