Ethel Dorothy Kondratiw

Newtown Resident

For 60 Years

Ethel Dorothy Kondratiw, 88, of Newtown died at Bethel Health Care, April 19. She was born December 7, 1920, in Brooklyn, N.Y., a daughter of George F. and Whilamenia (Volz) Nadeau.

Mrs Kondratiw was a graduate of Bassick High School in Bridgeport. A resident of Newtown for more than 60 years, she was a member of the Dodgingtown Fire Company Woman’s Auxiliary for many years. Prior to retirement she worked as lead supervisor working nights at Vitramon, Inc in Monroe.

Mrs Kondratiw is survived by her daughter, Patricia Purcell and her husband, James, of North Haven; and granddaughter, Stacy Purcell DeJulio of Newtown; a son-in-law, James Zuklie of Sharon; and beloved grandson, Glenn Zuklie of Newtown; a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Agnew Kondratiw; grandchildren Michael Kondrat and Issa Blowers Meyers of Brewster, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Friday, April 24, at 11 am, in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. Interment in Newtown Village Cemetery will follow and be private. Friends may call Friday from 10 to 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut, 405 Main Street, Danbury CT 06810.
