Mother Of The Year Essay Contest

Newtown Middle School students Chase Wurtz and Shaina Evanko were among multiple students in the state that were winners in this year’s Quassy Amusement Park’s annual Mother Of The Year Essay Contest.

The students charged with writing an essay of 250 words or less on why their moms should be named 2009 Mother Of The Year.

The students with the winning essays will be entitled to bring their mothers to Quassy Amusement Park on Mother’s Day, May 10, and treat her to amusement rides and a lunch. Winning students also received a certificate from the park for their outstanding work.

The 14 winning essays will be displayed in the Quassy Restaurant the week of Mother’s Day.
