U8
The Desserts 3, Thundering Jaguars 2: âBrownieâ Dylan Zahansky scored once and âCakeâ Natalie Kelchner had two for the Desserts. âJelly Beanâ Jacqueline Gouveia played great defense. For the T-Jags, Bella Jimenez scored both goals and Alexis Mason had an assist and solid overall game. Greta Staubly and Erin Walsh both played well in goal.
Fighting Irish 5, Monkees 0: For the Fighting Irish, Alison Kelleher (3) and Grace Corcoran (2) scored goals. Audrey Benson played a strong game defensively and Jenna Lavelle also played aggressively for the Irish. For the Monkees, Emma Boland and Sophia Andrea played strong offensively. Abby Clarke was outstanding in the goal.
Lightning 4, Thunder 0: For the Lightning, Haley Harkins scored 2 goals with Sage Karp and Kaitlyn Reilly netting one apiece for the victory. Alexis Fortugno had 2 assists. For the Thunder, Victoria Keayes was strong in goal. Lucy Scarangella was tough on defense while Joy Metzger played a great all-around game.

Mustangs 2, Lightning Bolts 1: The Mustangs got a great defensive goaltending effort from Colleen McCarthy and scores from Megan Olszewski and Megan Goyda. The Lightning Boltsâ defensive effort was anchored by Juliet Grover, Gemma Hyeon and Keira Viellette. On offense, Christina Moore scored the Lightning Boltsâ lone goal.Â
Purple Penguins 4, Crushers 0: For the Purple Penguins, Cecilia Schoeni scored 2 goals and Anna Biondi and Margaret Elkins each scored to lead the offense. Danielle Mola and Amy Pruner played excellent defense to help secure the win. The Crushersâ Madison Pirone, Amanda Albanesi and Megan Nahmias had great all around games. Chloe Blakeman and Alexis Tucker were strong on defense.
U11
Greenwich 2, Newtown Comets 1: Trailing 1-0, Mikayla Kuligowski scored a goal assisted by Kimberly Brello. Keeper Emily Charash made several saves in the second half, Julia Schoeni provided strong defense at stopper and Katie Mossbarger sparked the offense.Â
U12
Lightning 4, Fairfield 1: Trailing 1-0 at halftime, the Lightning struck with goals by Megan Meyer, Sarah Lynch, Kailee Dunnigan (who also had an assist) and Kelsey Muiz. Siena Cicarelli made excellent contributions in the midfield and Michelle Zarifis was tough on defense. Kate Fallon, Emily Riley, Shelby Tolla and Dunnigan handled the nets for the Lightning.
U14
Team No. One 3, Team No. Two 2: Amanda Melee scored two goals and Rachel Karnoff scored the third goal in the win. Claire Miles, Claire Bernson and Abby Hungaski were all strong in goal in a winning effort. Hannah Delia scored a goal on a penalty shot and Katie Clark scored the second goal in the defeat. Daniella Genovese, Sierra Toomey, Emily Clark and Samantha Dion played well in goal and Danielle Agugliaro had a great game at halfback.
Earthquakes 3, Tidal Waves 2: For the Earthquakes goals were scored by Kelly OâConnell, Emily Turco and Hannah Booth. Becky Frank played a great game. For the Tidal Waves, Sierra Mather had a goal and an assist and Meghan Grimes scored a goal. Leah Bromberg played strong defense and Brianna Baranoski had excellent overall play.
Twisters 2, Cyclones 2: For the Twisters, Lauren Sarna and Kerry Scallon scored. Hayley Naphen and Jenna Hansen contributed solid defense. For the Cyclones, Emily Albrecht scored twice and Eliza Eggleston had an assist. Kathyrn Kerins and Haley Ryan played very well in their first game for the Cyclones. Emma Lardner played well on defense and made a nice save.
Ridgefield 2. Flash 0: The Flash kept it close behind offensive efforts of Kiely Kuligowski and Kyra Murray. The Flash defense of Katie Shirley, Abby Blakeman and Moorgan Kirol kept Ridgefield at bay for most of the game. Emily Brisson gave a valiant effort in goal with acrobatic dives for 6 saves.
Boys
U8
Hawks 3, Hurricanes 2: Luke Barrett and Sean Arnold both scored the goals for the Hurricanes. Andrew Manka had numerous shots on goal and played his best overall game. Ryan Beardsley and Jacob Laros had a strong defensive game. For the Hawks, the offense was led by Kyle Duval who scored 2 goals, and Nick Weiland who added a goal. Harrison Farah also made a strong offensive effort, while Matthew Blanco and Allen Xue played great defensive games.
Tiger Sharks 4, Newtown United 3: The Tiger Sharks fell behind 2-0 but were led by a 3-goal performance by Reid Harrison. Mark Hall added a goal and Trevor Bottom, Max Goldstein, Keenan Murphy and Max Roberts all played well in goal. The Newtown United showed no offensive rust in their first game. Trevor Tyrrell scored first for The United. Shea Talbot showed a lot of hustle in scoring the second goal. CJ Trivers scored the final goal with a blast into the upper part of the net. Eli Delp and Matthew Dubois were solid on defense.
U12
Newtown White Lightning 5, Weston 0: Newtown scored 4 goals in the first half and added one at the end of the second to win the league match. Jeremy Doski started the scoring with a shot set up by Michael Cook. Carter Nordman scored on another feed by Cook. Nordman then notched his second score within a few minutes on a assist by Clay Gattey. The final goal of the half was tapped in by Michael Biancardi off a long shot by Doski. The Defense was led by Kevin Droniak, Patrick Rowley, Will Swain and Ryan King.
U14
The Oskars 4, Beast of the East 2: In a chilly, pouring rain Blake Jarvis scored two goals for the Oskars with Spencer Tolson and Albert Dean each scoring once. For the Beast, Rob Nordman had a goal and Tyler Coleman connected with Craig Frigon for a second goal. On the defensive side of the field Jake Locorotondo played great for the Oskars and Ian Lew anchored the defense for the Beast.
Strikerz 4, Italian Stallions 0: For the Strikerz, Nick Klein and Charlie Poarch each scored a goal and Ivan Hutchison netted a pair. Mike Senf and Zachary Pollock had great games on defense. For the Stallions, Nick Snyder played great as goalkeeper while Anders Svensen had a great game at midfield. Robbie Russo anchored the defense and Michael Berko had a good overall game.
