The Tribury Table Tennis Club, based in Woodbury, Middlebury, and Southbury, welcomes new participants to play table tennis throughout the week, free of charge, as follows:

*Woodbury Senior Center, Mondays from 10 am to 1 pm and Thursdays from 2 to 4 pm (203-263-2828).

*Middlebury Parks & Recreation, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 am to 1 pm (l 203-598-3719).

*Southbury Senior Center, Tuesdays and Fridays from 2 to 4:30 pm (203-264-5858).

Prospective players may drop in to play, or call each of the sites for more information. Play is limited to seniors at the senior centers and open for all ages at Middlebury Parks & Recreation.

The club has held sessions in all three towns for the past three years, and also participates in area tournaments. Most recently, it had a dozen representatives in the Connecticut Masters Games, April 12 in East Hartford. Newtown’s Frank von Oy earned a gold medal, along with Jim Pine, in the men’s doubles category; von Oy won a silver, along with Jane Blake, in the mixed doubles group, and additionally captured a bronze in the men’s singles category.

Woodbury’s Rene Cunningham, coordinator for the club, won two gold medals and also took home a silver.
