MONROE — Creative Music & Arts, a Monroe music education facility, will offer a three-chord guitar workshop for adults Sunday, April 29, from 1 to 2:30 pm at the studio, 731 Main Street.

Hosted by Billy Bileca of Creative Music, the workshop is aimed at new or rusty guitarists who are interested in learning to play as many songs as they can by only knowing three chords.

“Many adults want to learn how to play a musical instrument but just don’t have the time,” says Creative Music director Liz Reisman. “This workshop gives them an opportunity to learn some very basic chords in a fun, supportive environment.”

Admission to the 90-minute workshop is $20, or free with the purchase of a high-quality, entry-level guitar for $129, which also includes a case.

Mr Bileca, who performs locally at restaurants, including The Inn at Newtown, is a guitar and bass player. He studied with Joel DiBartolo of the Tonight Show orchestra at Grove School of Music in California. He has toured nationally and internationally with many blues and rock groups, and is also a recording artist.

For more information or to register for the workshop, contact Creative Music & Arts at 261-7301. Space is limited and advanced registration is required.
