Poet Theresa Vara To Speak At Minor Memorial Library

ROXBURY — Roxbury resident Theresa C. Vara-Dannen, poet and author of the newly published Profligate with Love, will speak at Minor Memorial Library on Sunday, May 6, at 4 pm. The program, part of the library’s “Meet the Author” series, is free and open to the public and refreshments will be served. Copies of the book will be available for sale and signing.

Patricia Klindienst, an independent scholar affiliated with Yale University, says of Profligate with Love: “We trust the voice as a life unfolds through this sequence of poems, telling us the stories we always need to hear…”

Two-time winner of the Innovative Teaching Award at Chase Collegiate School, Ms Vara-Dannen currently teaches English at University High School in Hartford. In addition, she is one of the founding editors of The Litchfield Review, a journal devoted to literature.

Minor Memorial Library, at 23 School Street, is handicapped-accessible.  Call the library at 860-350-2181 for additional information or directions.
