Hawk Golfers Edged By Bunnell, Beat Immaculate

Newtown High School’s golf team was edged by visiting Bunnell of Stratford on Monday, and defeated visiting Immaculate of Danbury on Tuesday — both at Rock Ridge Country Club. The Nighthawks stood at 3-4 overall heading into Wednesday’s scheduled home match with Masuk of Monroe (after The Bee sports section went to press).

Against Bunnell, Newtown shot a 150 and the Bulldogs shot a 148 to pull out the win. Vivek Tedla was Newtown’s top golfer, shooting a 35, Brian LeBlanc and Abbey Doski both shot a 38, and Stephan Rahr shot a 39.

In their next match, the Nighthawks shot a 170 and Immaculate shot a 191. Newtown got the win behind LeBlanc’s 39, Chris Erikson’s 40, Tedla’s 42, and Tommy Rahr’s 49.
