Petros Roussas

A Kind, Loving, And Generous Soul

Petros “Peter” Roussas, 66, of Newtown, beloved husband of 40 years to Anna Vidalis Roussas, died peacefully, April 24. Born in Andros Greece, to Nikos and Vasiliki Tredemas Roussas, he was a resident of Newtown since 1988.

He was the former co-proprietor of Frankie’s Diner, located in Bridgeport. A kind and generous individual, he enjoyed farming, gardening, cooking, and storytelling. A man who loved the simple things in life, he took pride in his built brick oven. He took his greatest satisfaction in his granddaughter, Eleni, who was the apple of his eye.

Survivors in addition to his wife, are his son Nick Roussas, and his wife Sandy, of Newtown and his daughter Vasiliki Roussas-Bagordakis, and husband Clever, of Bridgeport; his granddaughter; five sisters; and several nieces and nephews. Three siblings predeceased Mr Roussas.

Calling hours are scheduled for Thursday, April 26, from 4 to 8 pm, in the Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main Street, Bridgeport (on the Trumbull line), with Trisagion services on Thursday evening at 6 pm, in the funeral home. Friends are invited to attend the Rite of Burial Friday, April 27, at 11:30 am, in the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 4070 Park Avenue, Bridgeport, with Father Andreas Vithoulkas Presbyter officiating. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery Bridgeport will follow.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations made be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in loving memory of Mr Roussas.
