A Smart Choice
To the Editor:
Yesterday, I made a very smart choice. I went to The Meeting House at 3:30 pm and became one of the audience members, listening to the Newtown Choral Society's concert, “The Soul of New Orleans.” What a fantastic, happy, joyous experience. The program's offerings included Creole, Cajun and Folk Music, masterfully directed by Mary Andreotta. While a member since 1987, Mary has directed the choral since 1998.
As important as the directorship position is, the wonderful performances could never have continued to enthrall us without the dedication of the talented, enthusiastic singers and musicians, the accompanist, Susan Anthony-Klein, and the choral's president, Laura Lerman. Not only does Laura sing in the choral but she also wrote the most interesting and enjoyable program notes.
The next time you read about an upcoming Newtown Choral Society's concert, mark your calendars and make the smart choice I made yesterday. Go! You will be so happy you did, that you, too, may be inspired to write a letter to the editor!
Sincerely,
Lynn Buttner
