Emily Oliver, a creative writing major, was named to the 2010 Winter Term Deanâs List at Knox College, Galesburg, Ill.
Christopher Pear, a student at Newtown High School, was accepted into the Florida Institute of Technology, Melbourne, Fla. According the to the institute, Christopher, son of Brian and Kathy Pear, will be entering the 2010-2011 school year at the school as a marine biology major.
Katie Gottleib, a first year student at the University of Connecticut, qualified for the fall 2009 Deanâs List for the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. She was also awarded the Frances E. Osborne Kellogg Foundation Scholarship, given to the top performers in the Department of Animal Sciences at the university. In addition, the 2009 NHS graduate who is a pre-veterinary studies major, has accepted membership in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, which is by invitation only and is based on grade point average and class rank.
