*THE NICK DI MARIA QUARTET, a group out of Cheshire that performs original modern jazz, will open the stage area at Mocha Coffee House in Sandy Hook this weekend.
Featuring Nick Di Maria on trumpet (who also does the bandâs compositions), Andrew Kosiba on the Fender Rhodes, Dan Biancini on bass and Jake Habegger on drums, the quartet will be at 3 Glen Road with a show set to begin around 8 oâclock Friday night.
On Saturday night itâll be the music of EDUKATED FLEAS. Ukulele duo Greg Doyle and Wendy Mathews perform, says their publicity material, âbig hits, favoring swing and vintage tunes â as well as a few things you might not expect to hear on uke.â Find out what all that sounds like May 1, starting around 8.
*THE ADULTS will also be performing this weekend, at The Cookhouse on Route 7 in New Milford on Friday, April 30, from 9 until midnight. The guys will have plenty of new songs to offer as well as some familiar favorites.
Next up will be a return, after a number of years, to the Redding Roadhouse on Thursday, May 20, from 8 to 11 pm.
*From the satellite Road office (John Voketâs desk) comes word that MEAT LOAF has put together a summer run playing some of the nationâs amphitheatres to coincide with the release of a new album next month.
Named after a line from âValley Of The Dolls,â Meat Loafâs latest effort, Hang Cool Teddy Bear will be released May 11. Produced by Rob Cavallo (Green Day, My Chemical Romance), the album takes its cue from a story written by screenwriter/director Killian Kerwin and features a wounded soldier who flashes forward to a life that might have been. Free single downloads will be included in the ticket price in select markets.
Stops will include Mohegan Sun Arena on July 12, and tickets for that show will go on sale May 1, all priced at $39. Theyâll be available through TicketMaster on Saturday, and then also through the casinoâs box office beginning Sunday at 10.
*Also from Johnâs desk: 50 Centâs The Invitation Tour will make a stop at The Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford on Wednesday, June 23.
*American Idol finalist ADAM LAMBERT will be at The MGM Grand at Foxwoods on June 24, and tickets will be going on sale Friday, May 7, at 9 am. Priced from $40 to $65, theyâll be available through TicketMaster and the casinoâs box office.
*No ticket details yet but Ives Concert Park officials announced their concerts and festivals lineup last week.
In addition to the already announced shows by THE MOODY BLUES (July 13) and CAKE (July 15), the summer season in Danbury will include WIDESPREAD PANIC on July 23, WILLIE NELSON on July 31, GARRISON KEILLOR (who will be bringing in his Prairie Home Companion Summer Love Tour, complete with Nickel Creekâs Sara Watkins, the Guyâs All-Star Shoe Band, sound effects man Fred Newman, plus Guy Noir, Dusty and Lefty, and the News from Lake Wobegon) on August 18, and BACHMAN & TURNER on August 28.
Festivals will include the Southern Connecticut Renaissance Festival (May 29-30, June 5-6 and 12-13), the Latin Music Festival (June 27), the Ecuadorian Festival (August 15), the Ives Family Fair (September 18) and the Greater Danbury Irish Festival (September 24-26).

Until next week, Iâll be seeing you⦠on the road.
