What factors do you take into consideration when voting on the town budget?

Anthony Shrutkowski: How much of an increase there will be in relation to how the economy is doing, whether or not I think the money is being used wisely, or if there is waste in the town government. Categorically, an eight percent increase is pretty high for the budget to go up at one time, and if there are any major projects that need doing at the time of the budget.

Marco Kichler: Money.

Donna Hoffman, and sons Ethan, right, and Colin: I read the newspaper, and I try to keep on top of what is happening. And if it is not wasteful or excessive and whether it meets the community’s needs.

Chris Riccio: Everything. I really take a look at the Board of Education budget, I have children in the schools, and what the town budget is, what their expenditures are. And I take a look around, ask my friends, to see that those things are getting done.

Cindy DeFelice: My job. I work for the school system, and I do have a daughter in the high school. So I am concerned about that, concerned about class sizes.

Kevin Hitchcock: My taxes, and education, while being wary of how the overall budget is distributed.
