Joseph C. DeCarlo, 63, of Sandy Hook, the son of the late Anthony and the late Thelma (Patterson) DeCarlo, died April 28, at Connecticut Hospice in Branford.
He leaves behind three brothers, Michael DeCarlo and his wife Barbara, Anthony DeCarlo and his wife, Janet, and Gregory DeCarlo and his wife, Rose; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
 Mr DeCarlo was a 40-year member in good standing of the Sheet Metal Workers Local 38, serving in several official positions, including recording secretary.
He bowled for more than 44 years, bowling two 300 games. In addition to being an avid New York Yankees and New York Jets fan, he was a horseracing enthusiast, loving the Kentucky Derby. He was a longtime participant in the Newtown Softball League and the Bridgeport Twilight League.
Friends may call at the Spadaccino & Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, Friday, May 1, from 4 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 2, at 7:30 am at Spadaccino & Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St Margaret Maryâs Church, Shelton, at 8:30 am. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown.
