Town Players Auditions May 4-5

The Town Players of Newtown will host auditions Monday and Tuesday, May 4-5. Director Ruth Anne Baumgartner will conduct the auditions from 7 to 9:30 each night, with the intent of finding her cast for a July production of Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives Of Windsor. Auditions will be at The Little Theatre, on Orchard Hill Road.

Ms Baumgartner has speaking roles for 11-plus males and four-plus females of various ages, plus assorted extras. The auditions will consist of readings from the script. Actors who have not worked with this director may also be asked for a prepared Shakespearean monologue.

Children are not needed at these auditions, but children and young teens will be needed for non-speaking roles that will include Elizabethan dance. Parents can enquire about special auditions.

Backstage workers are also needed; attend audition or contact director.

Performances will be Friday and Saturday evenings, July 10-26, along with two Sunday afternoons.
