Calling All Historic Crafters
Calling All Historic Crafters
Newtown Historical Society is looking for crafters to participate in its living history demonstration series.
Demonstrations of crafts with Colonial roots or historic themes are held several Sundays a year during open houses at the societyâs Matthew Curtiss House. The 18th Century house-museum is located at 44 Main Street in Newtown.
Demonstrators are needed for June and September 2001. Participants need only demonstrate one time. Past demonstrations have included blacksmithing, spinning/weaving, candle dipping, and theorem painting.
The society is a non-profit organization and all sponsored events are open to the public free of charge. For more information about participating, call Newtown Historical Society at 426-5937.
