BOMBERS 2, TIGERS 1: Alex Thomas and Sydney Russell scored the goals that lifted the short-handed bombers to the win. Katlin Walsh and Katherine Stanton anchored the defense. For the Tigers, Danielle Norris scored and Jillian Spies played a great goal. Belle Hydock provided defensive support.
DESTROYERS 1, NIGHTMARES 0: Christine Sanchez scored the lone goal of the game that lifted the Destroyers to the win. Nicole Frey and Casey Day played great defense for the Destroyers. For the Nightmares, Samantha Lockhard, Kristen Gucciardo, and Jen Desrosier played well.
SHOOTING STARS 2, TIGERS 2: Devon Ferris and Meaghan Brophy scored one goal apiece to lead the Shooting Stars. Rachel Cox and Sarah Shannon played well. For the Tigers, Natalie Clavette and Melissa Schreiber both scored and Danielle Norris recorded assists on both goals. Maura McDade played well in goal.
DOLPHINS 5, BOMBERS 0: Gina Bonacci and Jen Brewer scored two goals apiece to lead the Dolphins over the Bombers. Meaghan McCarthy also scored while Jen Durelli and Tori Boushell played well. For the Bombers, Alex Thomas, Sarah Kelley and June Repasi all had solid games.
RAZORS 1, TORPEDOES 1: Adelle Cerreta scored for the Razors and Rebecca Reed scored the Torpedoes in this tie. For the Razors, Kelsey Hopper and Jacqri Kirol played well on offense and Alana Gilbert was solid on defense. For the Torpedoes, Kaylee Boyle and Marina Virgalla assisted on the goal while Meaghan Albal played well on defense.
GIRLS F
EAGLES 3, TIGERS 1: Kristen Tanner scored two goals and Kim-Li Tran added one to lead the Eagles. Alexandra Korchman scored the goal for the Tigers and was supported with great play from Michelle Davies on offense and Meahgan Wilson and Samantha Dinnan on defense. The Eagles received tremendous defensive effort from Alex Israel and Sarah Attanasio.
SCREAMING NIGHTMARES 1, TORNADOES 1: This hard fought game deadlocked in a tie. Berenice Bryant scored for the Tornadoes late in the first half. Megan Rockwell scored on a break-away run in the second half for the Nightmares to tie it up. For the Tornadoes, Matilda Dean and Megan Bridges had plenty of shots on goal and Katie OâDell played good defense. For the Nightmares, Hillary Buzaid, Rebecca Jaroszewski and Kaley Kruger had shots on goal and provided plenty of defensive stops.
LIGHTNING 6, STRIKERS 2: Hannah Basch-Gould scored two goals while Paige Woodhouse, Taylor Smith, Ellen Tabler and Kara Brown scored one apiece to lead the Lightning to the win. Jamie Keating and Michelle Salem both had fine games. For the Strikers, Ellen Ritzinger scored both goals. Nicole Gindraux and Alyssa Buda both played well.
TORNADOES 4, DOLPHINS 0: Kate Bowen scored a pair of goals while Allison Modzelewski and Molly Day scored one apiece to lead the Tornadoes to the win. Stephanie Sanchez had a great corner kick and Colleen Cunningham provided the assist on the Modzelewski goal. For the Dolphins, Lisa Barber, Audra Sarna, Molly Sheluck and Kelly OâConnor had great games.
TIGERS 1, ROCKETS 1: Ali Korchman scored one goal and with outstanding goal keeping by Madeline Keane, the Tigers held the score at a tie. Also for the Tigers, Michele Davis, Kyra Smith, Samantha Dinnan and Jennifer Smith played a great game. Sarah Murtha scored the goal for the Rockets and Nicole Vournazos played a great defensive game. Jessica Lynch and Abigail Keough played a great offensive game.

WOLVERINES 1, TIGERSHARKS 1: Nicholas Nazer, on a great give and take play with Aaron Nezvesky, scored first for the Wolverines. Drew Bonvini played a flawless first half as keeper for the Wolverines. The Tigersharks evened the score in the third period on a great shot by Andre Capozziello, assisted by highly skilled Lewis Thompson. Dan OâConnor played great defense for the Tigersharks keeping the hungry Wolverines at bay.
ROADRUNNERS 3, FLYING ALIENS 1: Chris Haylon scored an early goal and Kyle Moore added two others as the Roadrunners held on to beat the Flying Aliens. Timmy Culligan scored the Flying Aliens goal in the third quarter after a fierce battle in front of the net. Logan Rodgers and Grant Braun played superbly for the Aliens while Douglas Brede was outstanding for the Roadrunners.
DRAGONS 5, TITANS 0: The offense of the Dragons played well with Gregory Campbell, Joe Christiano, Oliver Powers, Sean Maher and Sam Hoagland all scoring. Mat Datin and Kevin Curry play aggressive soccer for the Titans.
LIGHTNING 5, ROADRUNNERS 2: Ryan Hudock scored a pair of goals while Tyler Edwards, Keith McGrath and Brandon McGuinn scored solo goals to lead the Lightning to the win. Ian Cooper and Kyle DiNicola scored for the Roadrunners and Robert Morlath led the defense.
EAGLES 2, HURRICANES 1: Max Paytner and Ricky Galluci scored to lead the Eagles over the âCanes. Cody Cullens played well on offense and Jonathan Zigman and Henry Sims anchored the defense. For the Hurricanes, Dan Cassidy scored the lone goal. Spencer Scott also played well on offense and Steven Dworkin and Ben Cruson led the defense.
 COYOTES 6, TORNADOES 4: Steven Sapienza and Kyle Droniak scored two goals apiece to help lead the Coyotes to the win. Eric Rardin and Gabriel Giusti also scored and the offense was supported by Michael Daily with Patrick Stein anchoring the defense. For the Tornadoes, goals were scored by Ryan DiLuoffo (2), Neris Halili and Matthew Samuelson. Niall Reynolds played exceptional defense.

WOLVERINES 1, SHARKS 1: The Sharks took an early lead in the first quarter on a goal by Brandon Body. Sam Norcross and Tommy Stewart played well for the Sharks thwarting multiple Wolverine attacks. The game continued without score until late in the fourth quarter when Aaron Nezvesky dribbled the ball past several Shark defenders down the right side of the field passing to Matt Hoffman. Hoffman drove the ball towards the goal with Ryan Pearlman putting it into the net with two minutes left in the game.
GIRLS U10
HURRICANES 1, BROOKFIELD (B) 1: Cassie David â assisted by Nora Lynn Shimko â produced the lone Newtown goal as the Hurricanes played to a hard fought tie. On offensive, Genna Scheuerell teamed up with Tania Domingos to keep Brookfieldâs defense off balanced all afternoon. Strong overall play by Emily Weber and Kelly Sullivan preserved the standoff.
HURRICANES 1, BROOKFIELD (A) 0: With only seconds remaining in the first half, Megan Hansen scored the gameâs only goal on a tremendous individual effort. Hannah Tenenbaum along with Haley Keane played a strong overall game to preserve the shutout for the team. Molly Curry anchored the blanket defense.
GIRLS U11
WATERTOWN 2, NAVIGATORS 0: The Navigators pressed hard throughout the game, but were unable to get on the board. Bethany Morin had 12 saves in goal while Eva Cerreta and Harriet Morgan played solid games up front. Julie Landin and Christie Attanasio had good defensive efforts.

VIPERS 6, BROOKFIELD 2: The Vipers allowed their first two goals of the season, but two defensive plays kept the Vipers alive (Danny Smith cobbled up a PK that was shot low and wide and Kevin Davies, protecting the far post on a Brookfield corner kick, held his position and headed a sure goal off line for the save). Drew Taylor sparked most of the offensive push from the center mid position while Nick Kallivrousis and Justin Miller gave strong support. The six Vipers to score were Alex Bowen, Jason Smith, Paul Andras, Max Hoagland, Kevin Troy and Chris Schreiber.
VIPERS 8, NEW FAIRFIELD 0: The Vipers recorded their second shutout of the season with solid goalie play by Danny Smith and Alex Bowen. The defensive core of Chris Meier, Mat DeBrantes and Ethan Canfield set the tone of the match by denying all New Fairfieldâs offense. The balance Viper attack rallied with six different scorers â Paul Andras (2), Anthony Florez (2), Kevin Troy (1), Justin Miller (1), D. Smith (1) and Chris Schreiber (1).
BOYS U12
RAGE 2, HADDAM-KILLINGWORTH 0 (State Cup): Goals were scored by Joe Rahtelli and Jack Quinn with assists by Michael Kennedy and Michael Klein. Goalie Steven Marks made five saves. The defensive backfield of Aron Fay, Justin Durelli, Matt Boland, Billy McCann and Mark Cinquegrana kept the Haddam pressure off.
RAGE 4, SOUTHBURY 0: Jack Quinn (2), Brian Conroy and Ross MacLeod scored the goals to lead the Rage. Assists were by Michael Kennedy (2), Michael Klein and Jack Quinn. There was good mid field play from Chris Nuelle, Matt Norris and Nick Sando. Joe Rahtelli and Eric MacKnight kept up the offensive pressure for the Rage.
GIRLS U12
SOUTHBURY 4, NITROS 0: Newtown created numerous scoring opportunities throughout the game but just couldnât find the net when it needed to. Sara Peters, Rachel Eastman and Heather Young applied strong offensive pressure for the Nitros. Kristene Salbu, Sarah Wilson, and Rose Jackman did a great job of controlling the mid field play for much of the match, but it wasnât enough against a tough Southbury squad.
GIRLS U13
ROCKETS 7, THOMASTON 0: Siobhan Cooper scored four goals (assisted all four times by Mary Anders), Tara Gaston scored twice, and Anders added a goal of her own as the Rockets blasted Thomaston. Tory Thomas and Kayla Mesko shared goal time in the first half while Caitlin Hansen and Erin Clark took over in the second half â and all four shared in the shutout effort. Casey Frobey (assist) and Jill Tanner helped support the offense.
