A True Sports Enthusiast
James E. OâHara, 77, of Fairfield, beloved husband of nearly 50 years of Janet E. OâHara, died May 1 at St Vincentâs Medical Center. Born in Fairfield the son of Francis and Mary OâHara, he had been a lifelong town resident.
Survivors in addition to his beloved wife include three sisters, Alice Daly of Newtown, and Mary Douglas and Peggy OâHara, both of Fairfield; two children, Patricia âPattyâ Myer and her husband, William, of Bethlehem and Brian OâHara of Fairfield; two grandchildren, Billy and Jessica Myer; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Francis, Jack, and Tommy OâHara.
Mr OâHara was employed as a truckologist for many local construction companies retiring from the Hi-Ho DâAddario Construction Company. He was a true sports enthusiast and particularly loved baseball and football.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Friday, May 4, at 10 am, meeting directly in St Thomas Aquinas Church, 1719 Post Road, Fairfield. Interment will follow in St Thomas Aquinas Cemetery. Calling hours were scheduled for Thursday, May 3, from 4 to 8 pm in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.
