James E. O’Hara

A True Sports Enthusiast

James E. O’Hara, 77, of Fairfield, beloved husband of nearly 50 years of Janet E. O’Hara, died May 1 at St Vincent’s Medical Center. Born in Fairfield the son of Francis and Mary O’Hara, he had been a lifelong town resident.

Survivors in addition to his beloved wife include three sisters, Alice Daly of Newtown, and Mary Douglas and Peggy O’Hara, both of Fairfield; two children, Patricia “Patty” Myer and her husband, William, of Bethlehem and Brian O’Hara of Fairfield; two grandchildren, Billy and Jessica Myer; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Francis, Jack, and Tommy O’Hara.

Mr O’Hara was employed as a truckologist for many local construction companies retiring from the Hi-Ho D’Addario Construction Company. He was a true sports enthusiast and particularly loved baseball and football.

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Friday, May 4, at 10 am, meeting directly in St Thomas Aquinas Church, 1719 Post Road, Fairfield. Interment will follow in St Thomas Aquinas Cemetery. Calling hours were scheduled for Thursday, May 3, from 4 to 8 pm in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.
