Creative Mailing 21, JP Maguire 4 â Kate Bowen (eight strikeouts) and Alex Caracciolo combined for the win as Bowen smacked four hits, including a pair of homeruns. Emily Krewson had a hot night at the plate going 3-for-3 while Kathy Townsend smoked a triple. For JP Maguire, Margaret Sullivan and Megan Rockwell collected hits while Rachel Marlin pitched well and made an outstanding catch in centerfield.
Creative Mailing 12, JP Maguire 4 â Kate Bowen (12 strikeouts and a homer), Alex Caracciolo and Kaitlin Marsden combined for the win. Ashley Kuligowski ripped a two-run double while Daria Maruschak and Ashley Duncan scored two runs for Creative. For JP Maguire, Morgan Davola pitched well, Nicole Escoda played well defensively and scored a run while Megan Casey caught a good game.

Newtown Pools 13, My Place Restaurant 8 â Hannah Koch singled, doubled, tripled and scored three runs to lead Newtown Pools to the win. Emily Dion rapped an RBI single and Amanda Rowen pitched a scoreless inning. Marissa Chappell led My Place with two hits and two RBI. Erin Ferris, Nina Midlik and Nora Murphy also had big hits and Marilyn Lacroce pitched three strong innings.
Newtown Pools 14, Richâs Keyes & Locks 7 â Kira Reed and Kate Siroky powered combined for eight RBI to lead Newtown Pools to the win. Taylor Johnson and Morghan Moroney played well in the field. For Richâs Keys, Rhea Schneider and Tori Theobald each had a hit as Abbey Doski doubled and drove in two runs. Megan Gibbons and Jessica Lynch sparkled in the field.
Keno Graphics 14, Union Savings 13 â Megan Duero tripled while Katie Fossum and Daniella Genovese banged out key hits as Keno rallied for the win. Erin Begg pitched a scoreless last inning and hit a bases loaded single to right field to win the game. Brittany Soucar, Rachel Camejo and Marissa Cascella played well for Union Savings.
My Place Restaurant 12, Keno Graphics 5 â Colleen Durkin belted a first-inning home run and Abbey Keough had three hits and scored three times to lead My Place to the win. On the mound, Marilyn Lacroce and Ashley Cirone pitched scoreless innings. For the Green Machine, Kelly Ann McCarthy and Daniella Genovese pitched well as Elizabeth Grimes and Ali Kennedy had nice hits.
Carminuccioâs Pizza 9, Richâs Keys & Locks 7 â Caitlin Dowling and Natalie Dunn had strong defensive play while Caitlin Cocivi was strong from the mound along with Emma Herring, who had five strike outs in the final two innings to lead Carminuccioâs to the win. Caitlin Cocivi contributed two hits. For Richâs, Abbey Doski went 3-for-3 while Dianna Carozza, Jenna Bonaccorso and Meagan Murphy each had RBIs. Jade Mather pitched well.
U10
Atkinson Stonework 9, Mastercard International 3 â Olivia Sergiovanni went 3-for-4 with a double and Courtney Escoda pitched two scoreless innings and played well in the field to lead Atkinson Stonework to the win. For Mastercard International, Emma Hungaski had some great hits at the plate and Alena Ruscoe had several great innings on the mound.
Travel Tryouts
Tryouts for U10 and U12 Babe Ruth travel softball will be held Sunday, May 7, at Newtown Middle School. The U10 level try outs will be held at 4pm while the U12 will be at 6pm. All girls interested in playing travel softball must be willing to make a commitment to the travel program for the summer months of June and July. If you have any questions call Bill Begg (270-6911) for the U12 team and Ed Brady (426-8292) for the U10 team.
Tryouts for the U14 and U16 travel teams will be held on Saturday, June 3. The U14 level will be held at 10 am and the U16 will be at 12 noon. Location will be Fairfield Hills Softball field. Any questions call Nancy Bowen, Travel Director at 426-7101.
