Russell J. Tether, 70, of Trumbull, died April 29 at St Vincentâs Hospital in Bridgeport. He was born January 16, 1936, in the Bronx, N.Y.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Marjorie A. Fraioli of Trumbull; their two sons, Russell J. and his wife, Deborah, of Newtown and Thomas E. and his wife, Sharon, of Chatham, N.J.; two daughters, Marjorie T. Arendt and her husband, Wolfram, of Philadelphia and Amy L. and her fiancé, John Ferris, of South Nyack, N.Y.; and four grandsons, Daniel, Joseph, Matthew, and Nicholas.
Mr Tether was a graduate of Fordham University and veteran of the US Army, having served with NATO peacekeeping forces in Germany. He was a retired vice president of Marsh, Inc, an international insurance brokerage firm. Mr Tether was also a past president of the Trumbull Lions Club and member since 1975. He served as a Eucharist minister at St Catherine of Siena Parish since 1992.
Funeral services were held on May 3 in St Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull. Interment will be private.
Memorial donations may be made to the Trumbull Lion Club Scholarship Fund through the funeral director at Cyril F. Mullins Trumbull Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
