Computer Theft
Police report that someone sometime between the afternoon of Saturday, May 5, and the morning of Monday, May 7, stole a Fujitsu Lifebook laptop computer from a vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence on Misty Vale Road in Sandy Hook.
Police ask anyone with information about the theft to contact them at the police station at 426-5841.
Sugarloaf Crash
Motorist Ryan M. Doheny, 20, of 73 Toddy Hill Road was driving a 1992 Ford Escort westbound on Sugarloaf Road about 3 am April 26 when the Ford went off the right side of the road and struck rocks and a tree and caught fire, police said.
Doheny got out of the auto before it became fully engulfed in flames, police said. Sandy Hook and Newtown Hook and Ladder firefighters went to the accident scene to put out the blaze, police said. The auto was a total loss.
The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported Doheny to Danbury Hospital for treatment of arm and leg burns, police said.
Police said the accident is under investigation.
Jordan Hill
Police report a two-car accident on the morning of May 7 on Jordan Hill Road in Sandy Hook.
Police said motorist Paul B. Siecienski, 29, of Danbury was driving a 1997 Saturn SL-2 southbound and slowed to cross a one-lane bridge, when he was struck from behind by southbound motorist Paul A. Bernover, 45, of Brookfield, who was driving a 1996 Subaru legacy.
There were no injuries. Police said Bernover failed to drive a reasonable distance apart.
