Frederick A. Dickinson

Frederick Allen Dickinson, 79, of 834 A Heritage Village, husband of Margaret Burnett (DeWitt) Dickinson, died May 7 at New Milford Nursing Home.

Mr Dickinson was born December 31, 1921, in North Hampton, Mass., son of the late Ira and Jennie (Graves) Dickinson. He was raised in North Hampton, Mass., and was a graduate of Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts and Stewart Technical School on Long Island. He served in the US Navy during World War II, and had worked at Kimberly Clark. He had lived in Newtown, South Britain, and Woodbury before recently moving to Heritage Village.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Robert G. Dickinson of Morris, and David G. Dickinson of Bay Village, Ohio; a daughter, Cynthia A. Sprogis of Watertown, Mass.; and four grandsons. He was predeceased by a son, Richard A. Dickinson.

Friends may call at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main Street North, Route 6, on Friday, May 11, from 6 to 8 pm. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 12, at 1 pm at the United Church of Christ, Main Street North, in Southbury.

Memorial contributions may be made to the APDA, American Parkinson’s Disease Association, 1520 Hyland Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10305.
