Painter Robert Noreika Planning A Free Program For SCAN, May 24

The Society of Creative Arts of (SCAN) Newtown will welcome Robert Noreika of Rocky Hill for a demonstration of painting with a water media. Mr Noreika’s program will be during the next meeting of SCAN, scheduled for Wednesday, May 24, at 1:30 pm. The program will be at Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street.

Mr Noreika’s subjects are varied, including expressive coastal scenes and intimate woodland and countryside pictorials. The public is invited, free of charge. Light refreshments will be served.

Robert Noreika is a prominent watercolorist and illustrator whose paintings hang in many corporate and private collections throughout the US, Europe and Japan. His technical expertise was featured in Artists Magazine in April 1998.

He was awarded first prize in the National Casein and Acrylic Show in 2005 as well as first prize in the Connecticut Watercolor Society members’ show, also in 2005. He also holds Artist Membership in the Salmagundi Club in New York City.

Mr Noreika teaches and lectures throughout New England where he is represented in numerous galleries. He will be teaching a workshop in Maine this August and has just finished the illustrations for his tenth children’s book.
