*Remember last week when I mentioned that tickets for FIONA APPLE would be going on sale May 6, but I didn't have ticket prices yet?

Well those prices showed up, but after my deadline of course. Tickets for Appleâs show at Mohegan Sun Arena on July 24 have been set at just $25 and $35. Not bad at all. Damien Rice and David Garza will have sets that evening as well.
*Newtownâs Paint The Town PurpleFest continues this weekend when John Voket returns to Mocha Coffee House in Sandy Hook. JV will be joined by guitarist Brendan Walsh for this, Johnâs third of four planned Relay For Life fundraiser events. John has once again pledged $15 per hour donations, which he is asking attendees to match. His first two shows have already raised more than $300 for Newtownâs 2006 Relay For Life.
Speaking of that event, the high school track will be filled with walkers of all ages during the June 10-11 overnight, when the Relay returns. Johnâs final PurpleFest event at Mocha will be on June 10, and then heâll head over to the high school to perform some more. Heâs hoping some of us will follow him to one, the other, or both events as well.
*You know itâs summer, or at least approaching that time of the year, when concerts go on sale at a wicked pace.
