Senior Gold
Newtown 7, Trumbull âAâ 6 â Max Paynter had a hat trick and Jamie Bowers scored a goal and had two assists to lead Newtown at Trumbull. Andrew Hyland made 14 saves in goal. Jeff DiNicola (nine ground balls) and Kyle Vignone sparked the midfield play. Dylan Heubner, Cam Gehrman (off an assist from Bowers) and Kevin OâConnell scored solo goals.
Newtown 12, Ridgefield White 7 â Kyle OâConnor scored three goals, won four face-offs, and scooped up eight ground balls as Newtown put together a solid effort to get the win at Ridgefield. Andrew Hyland had seven saves, Ryan Lasher played great defense and Ben Mahony had two goals, an assist, and eight ground balls. Jamie Bowers and Kyle Vignone each scored two goals while Jeff DiNicola and Tim Dalton added solos. Andrew Golankiewicz had two assists and scooped six ground balls.
Senior Blue
Newtown 11, Pomperaug âB2â 2 â Kevin Brown scored three goals and had an assist as the Senior Blues evened their record at 2-2. Danny Clement and Kevin Faust each had two goals and an assist and Brian Cantore had two goals. Michael Mouchantat and Tyler Reszoly scored goals, and Ted Levine had two assists. Doug Schaefer and Shane Wurtz each had an assist. On defense, Timo Roehrs scooped up seven ground balls and Matt Grace made six saves in goal.
Danbury 8, Newtown 6 â Kevin Faust had three goals and two assists and Kevin Brown had two goals to pace the Newtown offense. Tyler Davenport scored a solo goal as Dan Greenwood and Tyler Reszoly combined to scoop 14 ground balls. Matt Grace made 12 saves in the cage while Jon Cairns and Colin Cinder were defensive standouts.
Litchfield Hills 6, Newtown 3 â Matt Grace made eight saves and was supported by strong defensive performances by Timo Roehrs and Colin Cinder, but the locals fell to Litchfield. Brandon Bennett, Kevin Brown, and Thomas DiLuoffo scored goals for Newtown.
Junior Blue
Newtown 9, New Milford Maroon 5 â Connor Quinn scored three goals while Patrick Capozziello and Jake Enriquez scored two apiece to lead Newtown to its first win. Stefan Dullinger and Mike Greenwood also scored. Wyatt Depuy dominated on defense as Graham Derrickson, Jacob Newton-Tanzer and Parker Rodbell kept the pressure on to help pull off the win.
Newtown 9, Stratford 4 â Connor Quinn scored four goals while Jake Enriquez and Patrick Capozziello scored two goals each to lead Newtown to the win. Michael Fitzsimons added a solo as Keenan Bennett, Stefan Dullinger and Thomas Bauer paced the D in front of goaltender Evan Isaacs, who made nine stops.
Newtown 6, Pomperaug âBâ 2 â Graham Derrickson, Jacob Newton-Tanzer, Matt Rahtelli, Michael Cascone, Jake Enriquez and Thomas Bauer each scored to pull off the win over Pomperaug. Art Fredericks and Anders Fogelberg both played well. Pomperaug had many shots on goal, but Evan Isaacs managed to make 15 saves to earn the win.
Junior Gold
Newtown 12, Pomperaug 2 â Trey Trudell poured in five goals and Justin Spath made eight saves to lead Newtown to the win. Matt Varek survived a fierce hit from the Pomperaug defense late in the fourth quarter and finished with four goals. Justin Brophy, Danny Hebert and Michael Lord all scored goals. Will Fletcher played great defense and showed masterful stick work on clears, leading several fast breaks into the opponentâs end.

Senior Gold
Newtown 13, RELax 5 â Lisa Vendel and Kara Brown scored three goals apiece to lead Newtown to the win. Kaitlin Brophy, Meghan Bridges, Maggie Korth, Annie Fletcher, Kaley Kruger and Katie Canavan (four assists) also scored. Annie Fletcher, Meredith LaPerch, Steph Suhoza, and Meghan Gibbons anchored the D and Jill Jagoe was outstanding in the cage with seven saves.
New Milford Jamboree â Newtown reeled off four wins at the New Milford Jamboree, defeating RELax (5-0_, Cheshire (9-2), Stratford (7-0) and Ridgefield (8-1). Lisa Vendel, Meghan Bridges, Kaitlin Brophy, Brittany Wiberg, and Kaley Kruger dominated the midfield while Meghan Gibbons, Annie Fletcher, Meredith LaPerch, Steph Suhoza, and Sam Dinnan anchored the D. Goaltenders Jill Jagoe and Rachel Fatse allowed only three goals in four games. The attack was led by Katie Canavan, Kara Brown, Liz Emerson, Nicole Waterhouse and Maggie Korth.
Junior Gold
New Milford Jamboree â Newtown swept through the New Milford Jamboree with wins over New Fairfield (4-1), Ridgefield (5-0), Brookfield (5-1) and Cheshire (8-0).
Maddy Keane, Kaitlin Vos Winkle, Elizabeth Eiseman, Michelle Isabella, Rachel Hyland, Paige Murphy and goal tender Emma Glasrud performed well on defense as the locals, only allowed two goals in four games. On offense, Molly Mahony tallied nine goals while Megan Knox and Vos Winkle had three apiece. Alex Klein scored two as Katelyn Kean, Kyra Middeleer and Brittany Emslie tallied solos.
Junior Blue
Newtown 7, Redding 7 â Sarah Read was strong in goal. Goals scored by Tess Kniesel, Meaghan Harkins, Christina Gould, Brittany Tolla, Riley Wurtz and Julia Trudell.
Newtown 12, Southbury 12 â Elie Mouchantant made 16 saves while goals were scored by Brianna LeBlanc, Andrea Sayegh, Kelly Gaston, Meredith Bridges, Tressa Scott and Jane Sclafani.

Newtown 4, Ridgefield 1 â Tess Kniesel made eight saves in goal while goals were scored by Stephanie Roman with assists by Melissa Christian and Katie McManus.
Newtown 4, Southbury 1 â Goals scored by Caroline Kingsley with assists by Catherine Lotrecchiano and Emily Malloy. Sidney Hansen had four ground balls.

Golden Gophers 12, Wolverines 7 â Will Northrop had four goals and two assists for the Gophers. Kyle OâConnor had three goals and an assist, Dylan Heubner and Tim Dalton each had two goals. Liam Ferguson scored a goal, and Kevin Brown had an assist. For the Wolverines, Cam gehrman had three goals and an assist, Ryan Lasher scored two goals, Billy Cascio scored a goal, and CJ Ryan had a goal and made eight saves in goal. Brandon Abbey and ted Levine each had an assist, and Zach Lemien had two assists.
Hawkeyes 12, Badgers 6 â Sean Maher and Brandon Bennett each had three goals and an assist in the Hawkeyes win. Matt Genovese, Thomas DiLuoffo, and Colby Summerlin all had one goal and one assist. Timo Roehrs made ten saves in goal. For the Badgers, Doug Schaefer and Danny Sclafani each had two goals. Matt Baier and Tyler Davenport scored goals, and Jeremy Schaniel had three assists. Lewis Thompson made eight saves in goal.
Buckeyes 9, Spartans 5 â Jeff DiNicola had three goals and an assist for the Buckeyes. Evan Gilchrist and Kyle Vignone each scored two goals. James Radcliffe and Michael Mouchantat each scored a goal. Andrew Golankiewicz and Connor McNamara had assists. Tyler reszoly made eight saves in goal. Tyler Hardy had two goals and an assist for the Spartans. Andrew Hyland had a goal and an assist. Shane Wurtz, Kevin OâConnell, and Joe Pieretti each had an assist.
Golden Bears 11, Bruins 6 â Michael Lord scored five goals and had three assists, and Phillip Reynolds scored four goals. Ted Benoit had a goal and made seven saves in the nets. Brian Kruger scored a goal and Jacob Locorotondo and Graham Derrickson had assists. For the Bruins, Dan Hebert scored two goals. Frank Bacarella, Patrick Capozziello, Cory Fisher, and Michael Fitzsimons each had a goal. Stefan Hennessey had an assist.
Ducks 16, Wildcats 4 â Mike Greenwood scored four goals and had an assist in the win. Will Fletcher scored three goals. Gabe Ruiz, James Marusi, and Jack Kearney each scored two goals.
