Ann F. Targett

Ann (Foley) Targett, 97, of West Palm Beach, Fla., formerly of Danbury, wife of the late Richard M. Targett, Sr, died on May 11 in West Palm Beach.

She was the mother of Helen Joy Previdi of Newtown.

She was born in Tuckahoe, N.Y., March 24, 1904, a daughter of the late James and Mary (Madden) Gavin. She attended Tuckahoe schools and later lived in Danbury, where she was a member of St Gregory the Great Church, before moving to Florida.

In addition to her daughter, she is survived by eight other children, Margaret Stave of Boynton Beach, Fla., Elizabeth Lewis of Lawrenceville, Ga., James J. Foley of Danbury, Jean Johnson of Great Barrington, Mass., Richard M. Targett, Jr, of Danbury, Barbara Raftery of Bellevue, Wash., Mary Elizabeth Snell of Seattle, Wash., and Ann Martin of Stratford; 32 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her first husband, James J. Foley.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St Gregory the Great Church, Danbury, on May 15. Burial was in Mt Calvary Cemetery, White Plains, N.Y.

The Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, was in charge of arrangements.
