Loving For Life: A Program For Parents And Teens To Be Held
At St Rose Church
Well-known educator and lecturer Mary Ronan, RNC, BSN, will speak on Tuesday evening, May 22, at 7:15 pm, to parents and teenagers at St Rose Church. Ms Ronan will lead a discussion and offer practical advice on handling the pressures society places on teenagers to form relationships and make sexual decisions at a very young age. The program is not limited to St Rose parishioners; adults and teens in grades 8 or higher are welcome to attend.
Through her talk, parents will learn some key differences between when âwe were growing upâ and today. Both parents and teens will learn skills to improve the quality of their conversations with each other, learn how to demonstrate maturity and self control, and discover how to bring the awesome power of God into everyday family life.
Ms Ronan began her career as a registered nurse, working with sexually active and pregnant teens. She realized that most of the teenagers she met lacked spiritual grounding and possessed little knowledge and few skills to prepare them for the sexual decisions they were forced to make. Ultimately, her ministry led to God and her work speaking on this subject to families.
Ms Ronanâs message to wait until marriage for intimacy and her practical advice on how to make this possible can transform a childâs growing-up years into a healthy, joy-filled time for everyone in the family. Teenagers and parents of all age children are urged to attend this lecture. Admission is free. Ms Ronan will offer a second talk on May 29; however, it will be open only to St Rose Parish eighth graders and high school students.
