William           Tucker, Sr

William Tucker, Sr, 79, died peacefully on May 12 in Bridgeport Health Care Center.

Born in New York, April 12, 1922, he lived on a farm in Monroe as a child and stayed in Monroe all his life, from attending a one-room schoolhouse to watching Monroe grow and change to present day. Being an outdoorsman, Mr Tucker liked to fish and hunt.

He was predeceased by his wife, Helen, to whom he was married for 53 years. In his younger years he was an arborist for local companies and later went into carpentry, from which he retired as a trim carpenter.

He leaves behind three children, William Tucker, Jr, and Pamela Mahalcik, both of Monroe, and Lawrence Tucker of Ft Meyers, Fla.; two nieces, Gail and Diane; three grandchildren, Billy of Sandy Hook, Amy, and Michael; and three great-granddaughters, Tonya, Alexis, and Venessa.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Contributions may be made in his memory to the Salvation Army, 30 Elm Street, Bridgeport, CT 06604.

Arrangements were by the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Trumbull.
