Capt and Mrs Gerald Joseph Finnegan

Julienne Steck and Captain Gerald Joseph Finnegan, both formerly of Newtown, were married August 28, 2003, at St Rose of Lima Church, Newtown, with Father Robert Weiss officiating.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Candlewood Inn, Brookfield.

The bride is the daughter of Thomas and Barbara Steck of Taunton Hill Road, Newtown.

The groom is the son of Gerald and Nancy Finnegan of Driftway Drive, Newtown.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Maid of honor was Diane Finnegan of Arlington, Va., friend of the bride and sister of the groom.

Bridesmaids were Lisa O’Toole of Charlestown, Mass., Susan Longwell of Hauppauge, N.Y., and Amy Finnegan of Newtown.

Best man was Eric Metz of New Milford.

Ushers were Anthony Guariglia of New York City, N.Y.; Michael McGowan of Watertown, and Michael Paolino of Arlington, Va.

The bride attended Providence College, Providence, R.I., and graduated with a bachelor of science degree in business. She attended Northeastern University in Boston, Mass., and received a master of business administration degree in December 2003.

The groom attended the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. He is an instructor in the United States Marine Corps at Quantico, Va.

After a wedding trip to Aruba, the couple is residing in Old Town, Alexandria, Va.
