Hands-On Fun For Kids Who Love Big Trucks

EASTON — The Parish of Christ’s Church in Easton will be the host of Touch a Truck, a hands-on fundraising event for kids of all ages. The event will feature a large assortment of interesting and cool trucks and vehicles that kids can learn about, sit in, beep horns, and get their pictures taken with.

The fundraiser will be at Christ’s Church Easton parking lot on Saturday, May 19, from 11 am to 3 pm. Rain date is Sunday, May 20, during the same hours.

Touch a Truck’s day of fun will include temporary tattoos, face painting, tractor/wagon rides, sand pile mining for “treasures,” a remote control truck obstacle course, and a “moon walk” jump. A food concession will be available offering hamburgers and hot dogs as well as other delectables.

Featured trucks will include a big and small dump truck, flat-bed with backhoe, fire truck, street sweeper, antique oil truck, antique pickup, police car, ice cream truck, Hummer, container truck, animal control vehicle, and monster truck.

Coinciding with the event, Christ’s Church Nursery School will raffle various children’s truck toys.

Proceeds from Touch a Truck’s day of fun will benefit the various outreach programs of Christ’s Church Easton, such as Habitat for Humanity and the Bridgeport Rescue Mission. Tickets for the event may be purchased at the entrance the day of the event for $20 per family or $5 per person. For further information, contact Gia Watkins at 261-7187.
