Berkshire Motors advanced to the title game last Thursday with an exciting 75-73 overtime win over second-seeded Marcuccilli Agency. Kris Nawrocki led the way for the winners with 35 points, while Pete Antonopolis tossed in 23 and Mark Svanda scored 17.
Gary Doyon helped keep the Marcuccilli Agency close with 40 points and Bob Rogers and Kevin Carolan added 18 and 14 points, respectively.
The fourth-seeded Inn at Newtown advanced to the finals with a 56-50 win over Colonial Mitsubishi in the other semifinal. Steve Bigham led the way for the winners with 30 points, while Jim Bowers added 16. Larry Manzi was a defensive standout, coming up with several big stops late in the game.
For eighth-seeded Colonial Mitsubishi, which upset top-seeded Villa Restaurant two weeks earlier, Brian Meathe scored 26 points.
Last week, Berkshire Motors stunned third-seeded My Place Restaurant as it rallied from a nine-point deficit in the final two minutes to win 68-67. Ian Engelmanâs shot with four seconds to go rattled around the rim before finally falling for the game winner. Nawrocki led the way with 33 points. Bart Smith scored 21 points, Mike Kirk tossed in 20 and Tom Villa added 17 for My Place.
The Inn at Newtown advanced to the semis two weeks ago with a 65-44 win over World of Wine & Liquors as Jim Bowers tickled the nets for 29 points, Steve Bigham added 16 and Paul Carpenter threw in 10. Mike Storms netted 20 points in a losing effort.
