Larceny
Police report that someone sometime between 9:30 pm May 8 and 10:30 am May 9 stole a bread container from the rear parking area of Francoâs Pizza and Café at 228 South Main Street. The container was positioned near the rear door of the business. It is worth about $10, police said.
Church Hill Accident
Motorist Glenn Zuklie, 30, of Waterbury was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer in the eastbound âright turn onlyâ lane of Church Hill Road, near the Blue Colony Diner, about 6:10 pm May 9, police said. At that time, traffic was stopped in the eastbound âstraight aheadâ lane there, police said.
Westbound motorist Peter Jones, 50, of Redding, who was driving a 1992 Honda Accord, made a left turn to enter the dinerâs parking lot and collided with the Blazer, police said.
Zuklie experienced soreness after the crash, police said. Police issued Jones a written warning for making a restricted turn.
Sandy Hook Collision
Motorist Dorice Heron, 38, of 7 Fawnwood Road, who was driving a 1995 Jeep Cherokee, was traveling on the eastbound right shoulder of Church Hill Road near 102 Church Hill Road and was passing stopped traffic in the eastbound travel lane at about 5:23 pm May 9, police said.
At that time, westbound motorist John Moore, 34, of 141 Edge Lake Drive, who was driving a 1992 Buick LeSabre, attempted to turn left into the parking lot at 100 Church Hill Road and collided with the Jeep, police said.
There were no injuries. Police issued Heron a written warning for passing on the right.
Brushy Hill Incident
Motorist Bonnie DeLorenzo, 51, of 4 Golden Pond Road, who was driving a 2002 Ford Mustang, was traveling northward on Brushy Hill Road about 12:30 pm May 10, when while she was rounding a curve, she was forced off the northbound road shoulder by a southbound vehicle, police said. The southbound vehicle did not stop, police said. DeLorenzo was not injured.
South Main Accident
Motorist Mitchell Falconer, 46, of 301 South Main Street was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Blazer southward on South Main Street and then slowed and stopped to turn left onto Peckâs Lane at about noon May 9, when the Chevrolet was struck from behind by motorist Lorraine Sahadi, 47, of Southbury, who was driving a 1990 Honda Accord, police said.
There were no injuries. Police issued Sahadi an infraction ticket for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
