Christopher Randall Jacob is one of six Bowdoin College students who have been awarded a Gibbons Summer Research Internship. The awards were announced on May 7 during the annual Honors Day Ceremony at the college, in Brunswick, Maine. Christopher is a junior at Bowdoin. Gibbons Internships are coordinated through the collegeâs Office of Information Technology and enable students to work with members of the faculty on projects that use technology to explore interdisciplinary areas and to develop fresh approaches to the study of complex problems.
Dana Katherine Metzger, a freshman at Washington and Lee University, has earned Deanâs List status for the recently ended winter term. Deanâs List at Washington and Lee, in Lexington, Va., represents a term grade average of at least 3.4 on a 4.0 scale. Dana is the daughter of Dr and Mrs Jeffrey S. Metzger of Newtown.
Francesca Piscitelli, a junior business and psychology major at Lycoming College, Williamsport, Penn., was honored for special achievement at the Lycoming College Honors Convocation on April 12. Francesca received an IRUSKA Honor Society Award, given for outstanding contribution to campus life in one or more student activities. She is a resident of Newtown and a graduate of Newtown High School.
Keene State College, Keene, N.H., has announced the names of the 1,013 students who have completed their graduation requirements and participated in the May 11 Commencement Ceremony.
