DANBURY â The Red carpet has been rolled out and the spotlights are shining on Connecticut and ACS CAN!
On Sunday, May 25, at 5 pm, as part of the closing night of the 18th annual Connecticut Film Festival, the newly renovated Palace Theater in downtown Danbury will host ACS CAN Night at the Movies. Benefiting ACS CAN, the event will include a screening of the locally produced film, The Pack, followed by a reception and Q&A with members of the cast and creative talent behind the film.
The Pack is a riveting drama where addiction, love, and murder are burning issues. In a hand picked case, an ambitious assistant district attorney prosecutes a woman on three counts of murder after her 47-year-old husband dies of lung cancer from allegedly breathing her second-hand smoke for 30 years.
Mourning his loss, their son testifies against his mother as the jury and the audience is drawn into an intriguing, emotional, and complicated drama regarding addiction, loyalty, and individual responsibility.
The Pack brings to the forefront the anguish and complexities surrounding this vital social issue and clearly depicts how times change and how people get caught up in the cultural shifts of the nation.
Come to the movies and mingle with the stars! ACS CAN invites one and all to experience a little bit of Hollywood in Connecticut. Tickets are $25 per person and proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN).
