The following dogs and cats are available for adoption from the Newtown pound, which is located at the end of Ethan Allen Road (behind the transfer station):

BAILEY is a five-year-old black and white neutered English Springer Spaniel who would is ideal for a single owner or couple and gets along well with other dogs.

JOE and MARIAH would like to remain together.  In addition to taking great care of each other, they would have plenty of affection, time and attention left for their owners. Joe is a two-year-old neutered male and Mariah is a two-year-old female calico.

MIA is a three-year-old long haired female cat with a missing ear and was found in the vicinty of the Pizza Palace on May 5.

MILO is a five-year-old domestic short hair male neutered black cat. This cat is a trooper who has seen plenty of the harsh outside life without the care of a loving owner and is ready to experience a better life.

TASHA is a two-and-a-half-year-old female, spayed shepherd mix who is good with other dogs and cats and has a pleasing personality.

SASHA is a four-and-a-half-year-old spayed female brindle Terrier mix who would be an excellent companion for children.

AMBER is a four-and-a-half-year-old white/brown spayed female mixed breed. Amber does well with other dogs and cats.

JENNY is a three-year-old spayed female white/brindle mix breed who is well socialized with people, but cats and other dogs would not be an easy mix. Jenny is energetic and would play happily with her new owners.

CHARLOTTE is a four-year-old female Hokkaido-terrier mix, who has a sweet personality and is friendly with other dogs and people.

Canine Advocates of Newtown, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit volunteer group, raises funds to spay/neuter and provide shots against DHLPP and rabies for all of the Newtown Pound cats and dogs. CAN also provides a free training DVD and Beyond Obedience Dog Training offers one free individual training lesson to adopters.
