DERBY â The Naugatuck Valley Audubon Society, Inc. in cooperation with the Department of Environmental Protectionâs (DDEP) Kellogg Environmental Center, will host a presentation titled âRiverside Reptilesâ Tuesday, May 20, at 7:30 pm. Guest speaker will be Brian Kleinman.
Mr Kleinman is passionate about giving quality educational programs about reptiles, amphibians, and other fascinating creatures of the animal world. His program will be geared to adults and children ages 4 and up.
Mr Kleinman specializes in hands-on learning experiences. Everyone will be able to touch or look eye-to-eye with the nine animals he will have with him on Tuesday.
The natural history and the importance of the conservation of these diverse animals will be discussed, while participants get to meet various examples from these two similar, yet different groups of animals. Among the animals expected to be at the environmental center will be a lizard, a giant toad, and a huge python.
Kellogg Environmental Center is at 500 Hawthorne Avenue off Route 34. A donation of $4 for adults and $2 for students for nonmembers of the Naugatuck Valley Audubon Society is requested. For further information, directions, or to register, call the environmental center at 734-2513.
